Antigone’s Stone House, our grandmother’s first home is situated on the top of the village of Mirthios above Plakias Bay with nothing but the horizon and the sea in front. A restored stone house consisted of a small open plan space with a double bed and an elegant seating area. It is constructed in the traditional island way, using natural materials such as lime-washed plasters, local stone and dark wood. This house has been dedicatedly renovated to create the ideal hideaway for those seeking to slow down and feel the authentic energy of a Cretan village. It’s a truly quiet place to disconnect from the urban routine and chill out above the magical south coast.
